Looking for a way to keep the festive spirit alive all year round? Consider an all-year-round Christmas tree! With creative decorations for each season and holiday, this blog post offers tips and inspiration for making your tree a year-round centerpiece.
The holiday season is always a magical time of year, filled with warmth, joy, and the twinkle of Christmas lights. But what if you could capture that same feeling all year round? That’s where a year-round decorated Christmas tree comes in.
Imagine having a beautifully decorated Christmas tree in your home, not just during the winter months, but all year round. With a little creativity, you can transform your tree to suit every season and holiday, from Valentine’s Day to Halloween, and everything in between.
A year-round decorated Christmas tree is a fun and unique way to bring a touch of whimsy to your home decor. And the best part? You don’t have to spend a fortune to make it happen. With a few key pieces and some DIY skills, you can create a stunning tree that changes with the seasons.
For example, in the spring, you might decorate your tree with pastel-colored eggs and flowers for Easter, while in the summer, you could hang seashells and beach-themed ornaments. When fall rolls around, you might switch to a Halloween tree with spooky decorations, and after Christmas a Valentine’s Day tree with red ornaments or paper hearts is fun.
But a year-round decorated Christmas tree isn’t just about aesthetics – it can also be a meaningful way to celebrate important events and milestones throughout the year. You might create a special ornament to commemorate a new baby’s first year or hang ornaments that represent your family’s hobbies and interests.
Tips for Creating An All-Year-Round Christmas Tree
With an all-year-round Christmas tree, you can use your main tree or opt for something smaller. In my house, we keep our smaller kitchen tree up all year. It’s a beautiful tree from Hallmark and we love having it decorated for different holidays and seasons.
Starting in September we pull out our big tree for the living room and decorate it for Halloween. That tree stays up through the end of February. After Christmas, it’s decorated for Valentine’s Day.
After a few years of having an all-year-round Christmas tree, I’ve come up with some tips and tricks to make it easy and also affordable.
- Use a tree you already have. It can be tempting to buy a black tree for Halloween and maybe a white one for spring but for space and cost it’s often better to use one you have.
- Get some ornaments that work for all holidays and seasons. I have a set of white ornaments that I use all year. For Christmas, they go on my bedroom tree, for Valentine’s Day they go on the main tree, and for the rest of the year, they go on my kitchen tree.
- Use what you already have. You can often reuse ornaments and other decorations you already have. For Valentine’s Day, I use the red ornaments that go on my Christmas tree.
- Make DIY ornaments. For Halloween, I made cute little Mickey pumpkin ornaments by using cheap orange ornaments of two sizes and gluing them together. For Valentine’s Day, I use paper heart doilies tied with strings on the tree. There are a lot of great options.
- Use a smaller tree. For most of the year, we use our smaller Christmas tree. It doesn’t take up much space in our house and also is easier and cheaper to decorate.
Having an all-year-round Christmas tree can be so much fun and is very doable with these tips. And now for the more fun part. The decorating ideas!
