Support Anti-Prime Day And Shop Small Businesses

Skip Amazon Prime Day and Prime Big Deal Days; instead, shop small businesses this holiday season. You can feel good about supporting small businesses instead of the big box stores and still save money.

Amazon Prime Day has turned into not just multiple days in the summer but also a sale called Big Deal Days in the fall. These sales can be tempting, but be cautious of those traps.

Are some deals actually good? Yes, but many are inflated, and really the price is not different than any other day. And often, these sales encourage us to buy things we don’t really need and wouldn’t have otherwise purchased. That doesn’t save us money.

Christmas is looking tough this year, with tariffs and other factors that are making the costs of goods very expensive. We don’t want to fall victim to overly hyped products that aren’t worth it.

Instead, let’s spend mindfully and stick to our budgets this Christmas. And one way to do that is to shop at small businesses instead of big box stores, including Amazon Big Deal Days.

How to Support Anti-Prime Day And Shop Small Businesses

Let’s talk about some ways we can support small businesses while social media floods our feeds with Amazon deals and things we do not need.

Unfollow Amazon Influencers

How often have you seen an influencer sharing a product that looks amazing, that before you saw their post, you never would have thought you needed a product like what they are showing?

You can’t want something you don’t know exists, so start unfollowing accounts that just share products after products while trying to convince you that you need a home full of things to be happy.

I will share products from time to time here and on my social media if they are things I actually use, but if a feed is just full of an endless stream of stuff, that’s not going to add value to your life.

Make it Harder to Shop at Amazon

If you have the Amazon app on your phone, delete it. Adding as many steps to buying a product as possible will help you stop and think about whether you really need an item.

Make it hard for yourself. You can also remove the saved password from your device and keep it in a notebook; you have to dig out of a drawer to use it.

Make Your Christmas Budget Now

If you don’t already have a Christmas budget, now is the time to get one ready. You want it to be realistic and something you can actually stick with.

You can use a simple notebook or spreadsheet to create it, or if you want something already made for you, you can get my Ultimate Christmas Planner. I’ve kept it affordable, and it’s printable and undated. You just buy it once and print off new pages each year to use over and over.

Shop The Stress-Free Christmas Market Deals Days

Once you have skipped all the Amazon deals, you can instead support some small businesses. Of course, check your local shops and support them when possible, but for your online shopping needs, you can shop at The Stress-Free Christmas Market.

October 7-8, the same time as Prime Big Deal Days, The Stress-Free Christmas Market will be open for a special event highlighting some of the vendors that will be part of this year’s virtual Christmas market.

Many of the vendors will have special deals happening, and all will have wonderful products to choose from. And the best part is you can shop in your PJs.

Be sure to join The Stress-Free Christmas Community to get updates and connect with others. It’s 100% free and even free of ads! There is also an app to make it easy to use.
