Skip the same old date night and change things up with a Christmas in July date night! There are so many fun ways to celebrate together and connect at the same time.
Date nights are an important way to stay connected with your partner. However, over time, you can fall into a habit of just doing the same things over and over again.
A fun way to change things up is by having themed date nights, and one of my favorite themes is a Christmas in July date night. As you may have guessed, I love Christmas, and it’s a fun way to bring some of that magic to the summer.
So far this year, my husband and I have made and decorated Christmas-themed Rice Krispies treats and watched a Hallmark Christmas in July movie. Both were a lot of fun and a nice change.

Christmas in July Date Night Ideas
Christmas Movie Marathon
A Christmas movie marathon is a classic date night idea. Watch some Christmas classics or turn on Hallmark Channel’s Christmas in July for some fun, cheesy Christmas movies.
Be sure to also make some popcorn, you could try some white chocolate peppermint popcorn, and instead of hot chocolate, try a frozen hot chocolate martini! Don’t forget the Christmas movie bingo as well!
Put Up Your Christmas Tree
A summer Christmas tree can be a lot of fun and make your time at home more enjoyable. There are a lot of fun ways to decorate a Christmas tree for summer.
If you don’t want to get out a full Christmas tree, you can get a small tabletop tree and decorate it instead. It’s a lot of fun to decorate a small tree all year.
Bake and Decorate Christmas Treats
One of the best parts about Christmas is the delicious treats, so bringing that to Christmas in July is a great plan. You can bake some Christmas cookies to decorate, or do what my husband and I did once and make Rice Krispies treats to decorate. We used a Rice Krispie treat kit I picked up at the end of last year on sale, but you can also make Rice Krispies from scratch.

Christmas Karaoke
Sing along to your favorite Christmas carols and holiday songs. You can even dress up in Christmas-themed outfits to get into the spirit.
Gift Exchange
Buy small, thoughtful gifts for each other and have a mini gift exchange. You can set a budget and see who can find the most creative or meaningful gift.
Holiday-Themed Dinner
Cook a Christmas-themed dinner with dishes like roast turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. Set the table with holiday decorations and play Christmas music in the background.

Frozen Hot Chocolate Bar
Set up a frozen hot chocolate bar with different types of toppings and mix-ins. Enjoy making and tasting different combinations. You can get a delicious frozen hot chocolate recipe here on the site. Or if you love coffee, try a frozen hot chocolate frappe.
Christmas Puzzle or Game Night
Work on a Christmas-themed puzzle or play holiday-themed board games together. Or play one of the fun printable Christmas games offered on the site.
Create a Holiday Playlist
Spend the evening creating a Christmas playlist together. Include all your favorite holiday songs and new discoveries. You can then listen to this playlist during the holiday season and remember your fun night making the playlist together.
Christmas Craft Night
Make Christmas-themed crafts like wreaths, garlands, or holiday cards. Use the crafts to decorate your home or give as gifts. You could also make your DIY ornaments to decorate your tree with during the holiday season.
Christmas in July Party
Host a small Christmas in July party with festive decorations, food, and activities. Invite a few friends or keep it just for the two of you.

Grab some holiday snacks, sit together, and shop the Christmas in July Market. You can find new decorations, gifts, and other things to buy and all of the vendors are offering discounts so you’ll save some money.
