Hallmark ornaments are beautiful and last a lifetime. They are a great way to remember special events and times. And now there are great ways to save on them.
For as long as I can remember, Hallmark ornaments have been a cherished part of my life. Each year, as the holiday season approaches, I eagerly anticipate the joy of unearthing these miniature works of art and adorning my tree with memories of seasons past. In fact, my collection has grown so extensive that, a few years ago, we had to get a bigger tree to accommodate the ever-expanding array of Hallmark ornaments.
What makes Hallmark ornaments so special, you ask? For me, it’s a combination of their exceptional quality and sheer beauty. These ornaments aren’t just decorations; they’re heirlooms that endure the test of time. Their timeless appeal means they can be passed down from one generation to the next, as a gift of enduring love and cherished memories.
The beauty of Hallmark ornaments extends beyond personal enjoyment; they also make remarkable gifts. I’ve had the pleasure of gifting “our first Christmas” ornaments to newlyweds and “baby’s first Christmas” ornaments to expectant mothers at baby showers. It’s a heartwarming way to commemorate those once-in-a-lifetime moments.
My husband and I have our own traditions, too. We select an ornament every year to mark another chapter in our journey together. A few years ago I even got a small tree for our bedroom just to house these ornaments. I also have a small tree in my kitchen that houses all of the food-related ornaments I have.
One highlight I eagerly await each year is the Hallmark Ornament Premiere in July. Coinciding with my birthday month, this event is like a joyful prelude to Christmas. I relish the opportunity to explore new designs and add to my collection.
Hallmark also has a fun event in October called the Hallmark Ornament Debut. They release even more ornaments at this event and it’s a wonderful way to start getting into the Christmas spirit.
A few years ago, I created my own ornament checklist to ensure I never miss out on a beloved design. You can find a complimentary printable copy on my other blog, Retro Housewife Goes Green.
While Hallmark ornaments are undoubtedly worth the investment, a little extra savings can make the holiday season even more delightful. So, join me as I unveil my strategies for securing these treasures without breaking the bank.
How to Save Money on Hallmark Ornaments
Sign up for Crown Rewards
Crown Rewards is Hallmark’s reward program. You earn points as you spend money and they send you reward dollars you can spend like cash at the store.
We almost always have some on hand and right now we have $12 worth to spend at the premiere. That is almost one free ornament.
You can sign up online and just for signing up you will get $5 off your next purchase of $10 or more. That would be great to use at the premiere or debut.
You can use this program all year when you buy cards and gifts at Hallmark. They also often send you coupons for things like greeting cards.
Check Out Hallmarks Special Offers
Hallmark has a lot of great coupons and discounts all of the time. You can also often get bonus rewards. Before buying any thing at Hallmark including ornaments be sure to check out the current special offers.
Shop the Ornament Events
Be sure to go to the Hallmark Ornament Premiere in July, the Hallmark Ornament Debut in October, and the Holiday Open House in November.
These events often offer a lot of great sales and free gifts. I’ve gotten so many great free things from these events, including things that made perfect gifts.
You also often can earn extra points at these events which you can use later for more gifts or ornaments. It’s a great way to rack up those points.
Look for Last Year’s Ornaments
Each year I find a few leftover ornaments from the year before at really low prices. One year we got an ornament from the year before that was only $1.99.
I also found some Christmas tissue paper for less than a dollar. I didn’t need any but they had wrapping paper and greeting cards as well.
These clearance sections are often in the back of the store, so ask if you don’t see one. You never know what kind of deals you will find.
Shop After Christmas
While you may find last year’s ornaments while looking at the new ones you can also make a list of ones you want but don’t have to have or maybe can’t afford. After Christmas go to your local store and check out what is left, they often have a lot of great ornaments left over.
You can get great deals and maybe even get some Christmas shopping done for the next year. Don’t forget to check out the gift wrap, greeting cards, and gifts that are left as well. And use those reward dollars you have earned from your past purchases!
