Hallmark ornaments are beautiful and last a lifetime. They are a great way to remember special events and times. And now there are great ways to save on them.

I have collected Hallmark ornaments my whole life. My tree is overflowing with them every year. Last year we even got a new bigger tree in part to fit my ever-growing collection.

I love Hallmark ornaments because they are very high quality and beautiful. They last forever and you can even pass them down. They also make great gifts.

I’ve given many “our first Christmas” ornaments as wedding gifts and “baby’s first Christmas” ornaments at baby showers. It’s such a great way to remember special occasions.

My husband and I have an ornament for every year we have been married. I half joke that someday we will need a tree just for those ornaments. I ended up with a second tree in my kitchen because I had so many food-related ornaments so it could happen.

Something I look forward to every year is the Keepsake Ornament Premiere in July. My birthday is in July and it’s like a fun bit of Christmas during my birthday month.

I always end up buying several ornaments and I start making my list for the year. My parents buy me one each year and my husband usually buys me a few.

A few years ago I created my own ornament checklist to keep track of the ones I want or want to give. You can get a free printable copy over on my other blog, Retro Housewife Goes Green.

The Keepsake Ornament Premiere is July 13th-21st, 2019. Since it’s coming up so soon I wanted to share my tips for saving money on Hallmark ornaments because they can be on the pricey side. You are buying quality but it’s still nice to save money.

How to Save Money on Hallmark Ornaments

Sign up for Crown Rewards

Crown Rewards is Hallmark’s reward program. You earn points as you spend money and they send you reward dollars you can spend like cash at the store.

We almost always have some on hand and right now we have $12 worth to spend at the premiere. That is almost one free ornament.

You can sign up online and just for signing up you will get a $5 off your next purchase of $10 or more. That would be great to use at the premiere.

You can use this program all year when you buy cards and gifts at Hallmark. They also often send you coupons for things like greeting cards.

You can also get 500 free points by filling out your Hallmark ornament wish list online or in-store and getting your order before July 21st. You will also get a free reusable tote.

Shop the Ornament Events

Be sure to go to the Keepsake Ornament Premiere in July, Keepsake Ornament Debut in October, and the Holiday Open House in November.

These events often offer a lot of great sales and free gifts. I’ve gotten so many great free things from these events, including things that made perfect gifts.

You also often can earn extra points at these events which you can use later for more gifts or ornaments. It’s a great way to rack up those points.

Look for Last Year’s Ornaments

Each year I find a few leftover ornaments from the year before at really low prices. Last year we got an ornament from 2017 that was only $1.99.

I also found some Christmas tissue paper for less than a dollar. I didn’t need any but they had wrapping paper and greeting cards as well.

These clearance sections are often in the back of the store, so ask if you don’t see one. You never know what kind of deals you will find.

Shop After Christmas

While you may find last year’s ornaments while looking at the new ones you can also make a list of ones you want but don’t have to have or maybe can’t afford. After Christmas go to your local store and check out what is left, they often have a lot of great ornaments left over.

You can get great deals and maybe even get some Christmas shopping done for the next year. Don’t forget to check out the gift wrap, greeting cards, and gifts that are left as well. And use those reward dollars you have earned from your past purchases!
