Not ready to take down your Christmas tree? Turn it into a Valentine’s Day tree! It’s a fun and festive way to get more use out of your Christmas tree.
When I was a kid my grandparents had a huge Christmas tree. It took forever to put up and take down so one year they left it up most of the year and my grandma redecorated it several times for different holidays.
It was a lot of fun to see what new things she had done with it each time I went over there. I’m pretty sure I got my love of going all out with decorating for the holidays from her.
A few years ago we decided to start leaving two of our trees up for Valentine’s Day. It’s such a nice way to get more use out of your tree and also keep that warm glow a bit longer.
For my main Christmas tree that is in our living room, I left my red and turquoise mercury glass ornaments on the tree, added some white glittery ball ornaments, and red polka dot ribbon.
The other Valentine’s Day tree is a flocked tree in my kitchen. It has white lights so I added some red heart LED lights and a few conversation heart ornaments.
When I was taking down my Christmas decorations this year it was far less sad because I knew I’d be decorating for Valentine’s Day and I was excited to see all of the new decorations.
Having a Valentine’s Day tree has become more trendy lately and it’s so much fun to see others enjoy this tradition. I’ve seen several other fun examples and wanted to share those ideas with you as well so you can get some inspiration for your own Valentine’s Day tree.
While I just used my traditional green Christmas trees Cutefetti went all out with a pink tree. It's so much fun. I love all the food ornaments. I love this farmhouse Valentine's Day tree. It's simple and elegant. I also like that most of the ornaments are Christmas ornaments that are simple to find in Valentine's Day colors. A white Christmas tree is just asking to be transformed to a Valentine's Day tree and this one is such fun. I love the non-traditional items she used as ornaments. I love this black and white Valentine's Day tree with just touches of red. It would be great for someone not wanting to go all out with pinks and reds. While you can pick up a new Christmas tree, likely on clearance, it's best to use what you already have. Just get some of these fun Valentine's Day decorations to change it up. Simple red ornaments can be used on a Valentine's Day tree and also used next Christmas. I have a set of white Christmas ornaments that I use for every season to decorate the small tree I leave up all year. They are a great addition to a Valentine's Day tree. These fun heart ornaments are affordable and an easy way to make your tree look perfect for Valentine's Day. I actually dreamed last night that your dad took down our Christmas tree without consulting me and I was really upset – ha! I’ve redecorated for Mardi Gras in the past but not Valentine’s Day. I think I just might do so this year. And then Mardi Gras is February 25th so I can do that, too!
Lisa Sharp says
ha! I think that dream tells you that you have to decorate it for Valentine’s Day and leave it up!
