This year may look different than other Christmases but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t celebrate and have fun! There is so much we can do from the safety of our homes.
People are being so creative this year and bringing us amazing virtual Christmas events. Basically everything we normally enjoy in person is being brought to us online this year.
The great part of this is we can enjoy Christmas events we normally couldn’t attend because they are too far away or maybe too expensive.
There are virtual Christmas events for everyone! There are family friendly Christmas events, events for the kids, and even some adult-only events.

Christmas markets are always a fun part of the holiday season. These year you can attend Christmas markets from the comfort and safety of home!
There are at least two huge markets you need to check out if you love Christmas markets. They are the perfect ways to get some holiday shopping done and enjoy other fun virtual activities.
There is the World’s Biggest Virtual Christmas Market with online shopping live music, DIY tutorials, and more. The live events are happening November 14th- 28th but you can enjoy many parts of the market after those days as well.
Another wonderful virtual market is the Holiday Market. It’s an on-going virtual Christmas market you can enjoy anytime. There are tons of venders selling all kinds of things. It’s a great way to support small businesses this year in a very safe way.
A Christmas Carol Reading
Join Moving Mirror Productions for a reading of the Christmas classic A Christmas Carol. You will not only get to enjoy this wonderful story in the comfort of your own home but you also will be supporting the struggling theater industry.
It’s also can be very affordable as the price of tickets is a donation. Pay what you can afford. Remember that times are hard so give generously if you are able. The performance will take place on December 10th.
Story Time with Santa
Visiting Santa is another holiday tradition many are sad to miss this year but you no longer have to! The Lincoln Park Zoo is bringing Story Time with Santa to your home!
On December 20th you and your family can enjoy a story time with Santa and a fun meet and greet with some of the zoo’s animals after the stories.
Last Christmas Music Tour
Enjoy Christmas music? You’ll want to check out the Last Christmas Music Tour. It’s a musical tour Of Christmas featuring locations from the movie inspired by the music of George Michael.
You’ll visit the locations featured in the movie Last Christmas. And there will be lots of singing, history of the West End and more!
There are multiple dates so you can pick the post day for you and your family to attend this fun event.
Christmas Trivia
Trivia, AD is offering a lot of great live Christmas trivia events all season long! You join in on Facebook live and play in real time. This is an adult event so put the kids to bed or give them a Christmas movie to watch and some hot cocoa.
Some upcoming trivia topics include Elf, The Holiday, National Lampoon’s Christmas, Home Alone 1 & 2, and more. There are also topics that aren’t Christmas specific but are still fun ways to spend some time safer at home. These trivia events are free but tips are encouraged so if you can give please do.
Create Your Own Virtual Christmas Event
Don’t forget to connect with your loved ones this holiday season, even if it needs to be done virtually. We need those connections more than ever and with all of the wonderful technology we have it’s easier than ever.
