Cookies and Cream Espresso Cocktail Recipe

Cozy up for a Christmas movie night with this cookies and cream espresso cocktail. It’s a unique and delicious drink that is perfect for that date night at home.

One of my favorite Christmas date nights is simply staying home, turning on the Christmas lights, and watching a Christmas movie. Of course, it’s best when there is also some popcorn and hot cocoa is nice sometimes but even better is a Christmas cocktail.

My husband often plays bartender for us when we have an at home date night and one of his recent creations for us is a cookies and cream espresso cocktail. 

How to Make a Cookies and Cream Espresso Cocktail

It features cognac, coffee liquor, Grand Marnier, vanilla bitters, and of course espresso. It’s topped with whipped cream and Oreo cookie crumbs. It’s truly delicious. 

While it doesn’t have traditional Christmas cocktail flavors the orange, vanilla, and coffee does pair perfectly with Christmas treats and is perfect around the holidays.

To make it just simply shake the cognac, coffee liquor, Grand Marnier, vanilla, and espresso with ice. You’ll serve it in a chilled glass and top it with whipped cream and a dusting of Oreo crumbs. 

If you don’t have an espresso maker you can make double-strength coffee. I do highly recommend a stovetop espresso pot. They are affordable and make really great coffee. 

For the coffee liquor, we used Grind Espresso Shot this time but have also used Kahlua. Both are delicious and work well in many coffee-based cocktails or a splash in some coffee with a bit of cream. 

If you want to get really fancy you can dust the whipped cream with Oreos in a festive shape using a coffee stencil. I’m going to have to pick up some for myself so we can use them for drinks like these as well as our coffees.

This is a simple and delicious coffee-based cocktail that is perfect to enjoy during a date night at-home.

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 oz cognac
• 3/4 oz coffee liquor
• 1/2 oz Grand Marnier
• 1 oz espresso (freshly-brewed)
• 1 dash vanilla bitters
• 1-2 Oreos (no cream, crushed)
• whipped cream

Instructions

1. Shake cognac, coffee liquor, Grand Marnier, espresso, bitters, and ice in a shaker.
2. Pour into a glass and top with whipped cream and Oreo crumbs.
